DUBAI/KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Memon on Wednesday said that he will return to the country and face all the cases which have been lodged against him.

Memon, who is currently in exile between Dubai and London, was speaking exclusively to ARY News program 11th Hour with Waseem Badami, where he announced that he intends to return during the current month of October.

He said that the cases were politically motivated,  and accused that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was biased against him. He denied that he had resorted to plea-bargaining with the accountability watchdog  and said that that he has not done anything wrong. He vowed to not only face the baseless cases but also emerge victorious.

“I may not get justice, but I am political worker and will face them,” he said. He revealed that he was not in good health and was undergoing treatment in Dubai.

He said that it was a contempt of court that his name was placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) without a formal reference. In response to a question, he said that PPP Chairman Asif Ali Zardari was not aware of his plan to return.
