President, PM urge nation to follow footprints of Holy Prophet

ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday felicitated the nation on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him).

In their separate statements, both the dignitaries urged the nation to follow the teachings of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) to realize the objective of establishing an Islamic welfare state.

The president said the life of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was a complete book of guidelines for humanity. “We should give preference to collective national and religious interests and bring positive change in our actions and to transform the country in accordance with the State of Madina”, he added.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan in his message urged the nation to make firm pledge today to follow the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in true spirit.

He said, “We should refrain from steps which distort the image of Islam in the world.”

The prime minister urged the countrymen to promote unity, tolerance, brotherhood and interfaith harmony among their ranks as per the teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to make Pakistan a state like Madina.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi is being celebrated with great religious zeal and fervor across the country.

The day dawned with thirty-one guns salute in the federal capital and twenty-one guns salute in all the provincial capitals.

According to details, special programmes have been chalked out to highlight various aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet.

Mosques, government and private buildings, markets, shopping centres and roads across the country  have been decorated with green buntings, flags and colorful lights to mark Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
