ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday said that promotion of modern education, science and research were among the top priorities of the current government.
Talking to National University of Sciences and Technology Rector Lieutenant General Naweed Zaman, who called on him at his office today, Shah Mehmood Qureshi lauded the institute over improvement of its ranking on the list of top universities of the world.
Lieutenant General Naweed Zaman apprised the foreign minister about the research facilities available at the university and added that the institute was producing best engineers and scholars. He said that their engineers were performing their duties across the world.

Earlier, During his visit of National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa had stressed on the youth to “strive for excellence,” Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) had said in a statement on September 13.
While advising students to ask themselves to do whatever “they can do for their country”, COAS had emphasized on the youth to augment their academic excellence, the statement said.
Recognizing the improvement in NUST’s standing at the international level of university ranking, COAS had lauded the contribution of the university.
