PTI appoints Fawad Chaudhry as information secretary
ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Monday appointed Fawad Hussain Chaudhry as secretary information PTI, ARY News reported.
Fawad Chaudhry, who was presently working as the party spokesperson, will now head formal and informal media departments of the PTI and shall regulate and communicate with media as per party policy.
He has thanked the PTI chief and senior leadership for their trust. He said he would do his best to toe the party line.
“Thank you Mr.Chairman @ImranKhanPTI and PTI senior Leadership for utmost confidence and trust… will do all I can to come up to the expectations of the party leadership and the members,” he tweeted.
The PTI electronic, social and print media teams have been directed to report to the secretary information as he will monitor and evaluate their performances.
Earlier, PTI leader Shafqat Mehmood, apart from other duties assigned to him, was serving on the same post. The fresh appointment was made after the MNA requested his party leadership to relieve him as information secretary as the general elections are drawing near.
“With the election drawing near, requiring much greater time and effort and my additional duties as head of the party’s anti corruption and accountability cell, I have requested the chairman PTI to relieve me of my responsibility as central information secretary of the party,” he said.
