ISLAMABAD: Expressing reservations on Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N)’s candidate Shahbaz Sharif for the seat of prime minister, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Chairman Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rasheed for premiership, ARY News reported on Saturday.

Following long deliberation in a party’s parliamentary meeting today, the PTI has announced to support Sheikh Rasheed in the National Assembly’s voting session for new leader of the house.

On the other hand, the PML-N has announced the former state minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as an interim PM while Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif will later take over the premiership, given he wins in NA.

Deploring the dynastic politics, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that his party will file a corruption reference against Shahbaz Sharif with regard to Hudaibiya Paper Mills case.

Claiming Shahbaz has established UAE-based Capital FZE Company through money laundering, Imran opined Shahbaz will be proven more detrimental as new PM for his past corrupt practices.

Imran Khan has also lashed out at Nawaz Sharif on Saturday for playing victim card after being disqualified in multiple corruption references against him by the Supreme Court.

Taking to Twitter after Nawaz Sharif concluded the party meeting, Imran said it’s disgraceful the way Nawaz Sharif playing victim card after being found guilty of lying, forging, and perjury.

Venting his sentiments on PML-N nominating Shahbaz Sharif for Prime Minister, the PTI chairman said Nawaz Sharif is making mockery of democracy by underestimating the public’s intelligence.

Taking a jibe at Sharifs, Imran said Nawaz Sharif has nominated Shahbaz Sharif for his replacement who was also allegedly involved in corruption.
