LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders Fawad Chaudhry and Abrar-ul-Haq on Monday visited the Services Hospital to inquire about the health of Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal who was shot and injured a day earlier in Narowal.

“There can be no politics without difference of opinions. We have set our differences aside, and move forward as we both desire peace, and the political process must go forward,” said Fawad Chaudhry addressing media outside the hospital.

He said the incident has created apprehensions and uncertainty among politicians, which can affect the electoral process as general elections get closer. He said that both parties are against political violence, and hoped that the general elections will be held peacefully.

“We both desire peace, and believe that the incident will the affect the electoral process, as it has apprehension among politicians and politicians that campaigns will be not be held.

“Despite our differences, and all other matters, we do not believe in political violence, and this is the message we have brought today,” he said

Abrar-ul-Haq said they brought a message of peace and goodwill from chairman Imran Khan as there is no place for violence in politics.

However, he said the politicians should consider the sentiments of the people so that such incidents can be prevented in the future. He said the PTI will form a policy which will help prevent similar incidents, as democracy allows to review and learn from mistakes.

He hoped that the next general elections will be held peacefully, and that the PTI does not believe in politics of confrontation and violence, and they have learned a message of peace and brotherhood from their leader Imran Khan.

He prayed for the speedy recovery of the federal minister, and that all politics workers and others are safe and the electoral process moves forward.
