As the speaker announced the successful election of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as PM, a large number of lawmakers from opposition and government benches congratulated him but despite his effort (pulling Qureshi by his kurta), the PTI leader refused to shake hands with him or hug him like other legislators.

Talking to a private news channel, Qureshi explained that he has nothing personal against Shahid Khaqan Abbasi but he opted out of congratulating him because of the (the people) he was representing.

“I just didn’t want to shake hands with the thought I stand against,” said Qureshi.
