Punjab govt constitutes task force against profiteers
LAHORE: Taking notice of artificial price hike in essential items and other things, the Punjab government on Tuesday constituted a task force against the profiteers.
According to a notification issued today (Tuesday), Advisor to Chief Minister on Political Affairs Muhammad Akram Chaudhry was appointed as convener of the task force.
Akram Chaudhry said that the task force would undertake a comprehensive review of the existing price control mechanism and make recommendations for improving the existing price control regime in the province.
He further said that the task force would also submit a monthly report to the chief minister on activities pertaining to price control in the province.
According to a press release issued by the ministry, Minister for Agriculture Nauman Langrial, Minister for Food Sami Ullah Chaudhry, Minister for Finance Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht, additional chief secretary home, secretary food, transport, industries, agriculture and local government would be the members of the task force.
