Punjab to spend gas-less nights during winter
LAHORE: Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday dropped a bombshell on the residents of Punjab by announcing that gas supply will remain suspended across Punjab between 10:00pm and 05:00am during winters, ARY News reported.
The announcement means Punjabis would not be able to burn heater and oven all these cold nights. The federal minister for petroleum and natural resources said Punjab would receive 40 percent less gas than the demand.
He said the gas loadshedding would be applied on domestic consumers as well. He said the gas loadshedding had already started in different areas after increase in demand.
Khaqan Abbasi said the increase in loadshedding would not affect gas prices.
It is pertinent here to mention that this is not the first time that the residents of Punjab would face gas shortage. This phenomena has been on the rise since the last few years.
