KUALA LUMPUR: The International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) has arrested an alleged target killer, Raees Mama, in Malaysia.

Mama is said to be affiliated with the militant wing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), who was finally collared by the Interpol in Malaysia.

The alleged hitman is expected to be handed over to Pakistani authorities soon.

Mama is considered to be a prime suspect of May 12 incident, wherein 40 people lost their lives in Karachi. The suspect is facing more than 50 criminal cases.

He fled the country after an operation launched in Karachi against unscrupulous elements in 2013.

Mama is also said to be a close companion of Hammad Siddiqui, an accused in the 2012 Baldia Town factory fire.

Earlier in Oct 2015, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of Raees Mama and other absconders.

In one more case, Mama has also been declared a proclaimed offender for providing shelter to terrorists, besides being involved in land grabbing in the city.
