WATCH: Ranveer Singh’s reaction as ‘Padmaavat’ declared a hit
A lot of praise has been heaped on Ranveer Singh for his stellar performance as Alauddin Khilji in the recently released period drama ‘Padmaavat’.
Watching encouraging reviews for his latest movie he is over the moon as ‘Padmaavat’ has been through a lot to finally release on January 25, after a delay of about two months.
Ranveer Singh came live on his social media account to express his feelings over initial success of the movie directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
“I wish Sanjay sir was here. Man, I can’t tell you the amount of work, sheer effort and passion this man has put into this film,” he said speaking to his fans and followers while a large number of them were reacting to his video and commenting regarding Ranveer’s performance as Khilji.
He said it was really something that came out from Sanjay’s heart.
“Only that can explain his drive his dedication and his commitment. And he passes on that work ethic to the entire team.
“There were hundreds of people in our team, who slogged continuosly throughout the days. Every department; camera, costume, visual effects, sound, everybody has just put so much into this, oh my God. I am so proud of the team. What else can I say. I am just feeling very happy for everyone. This is special,” he said.
With release of Padmaavat it turned out that all the controversies that continued for months in India and which led to the filmmakers to cut some scenes and even change name of the movie had nothing to do with reality.
Fringe groups of Rajputs had claimed the movie would feature a romantic liaison between Padmavati and 14th century Muslim ruler Alauddin Khilji despite repeated denials by filmmakers.
The allegations of distorting ‘the historical facts’ were made without even watching the film which is based on fiction. Those who have watched the movie so far have given positive responses on almost everything in the movie.
