Rouhani stresses for greater cooperation between Pakistan, Iran

ISLAMABAD: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday stressed for greater cooperation between Pakistan and Iran in diverse fields including trade, commerce, energy and security.

He was talking to Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser who called on him in Tehran on the sidelines of the second Speakers’ Conference.

The Iranian president said the two countries had deep links which were rooted in history and rich civilization.

The speaker National Assembly said Pakistan enjoyed close and cordial relations with Iran.

Asad Qaiser thanked the Iranian government for supporting the Kashmir cause.

A day ago, while talking to Speaker of Islamic Consultative Assembly of of Iran, Dr. Ali Larijani, Asad Qaiser said that Pakistan attached immense importance to its fraternal relations with Iran and wanted to further cement the existing relations through enhanced parliamentary cooperation.

He said both Pakistan and Iran were intertwined in bonds of religion, history, culture and their goals while the two countries’ friends and enemies were also the same.

The NA speaker said that strong Pak-Iran relations were imperative for peace, security and prosperity in the region.
