PML-N’s Saad Rafique admits to second marriage in nomination papers
LAHORE: Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Khawaja Saad Rafique has confessed to tying the knot for the second time in his nomination papers submitted before the Election Commission.
According to copy of the nomination papers of the former railways minister, Rafique entered a marital bond with television news anchor Dr Shafaq Hira this year. She is associated with the state-run channel for the past seven years, reports said.
In the nomination forms, the former minister mentioned names of both of his wives – Ms Ghazala and Dr Shafaq. The second wife of Mr. Rafique is an MBBS from Abbottabad Medical College and hails from Wah Cantonment.
The reports of Saad Rafique marrying for the second time had emerged on the social media some time ago, but it’s been confirmed after the senior PML-N leader himself declared it before the returning officer in his nomination form.
Sadd Rafique will contest the elections against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan from NA-131. A strong competition is expected between the two heavyweights.
