KARACHI: Saeed Ghani has been appointed the president of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Karachi Division, while Javed Nagori has been selected as General Secretary.
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday held a meeting with the office-bearers of Karachi Division. He was briefed about the political and organisational situation in Karachi division and the development pace in the city being carried out by Sindh government.
During the meeting, Bilawal nominated Saeed Ghani as president and Javed Nagori as General Secretary of PPP Karachi Division.
Saeed Ghani thanked PPP co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari, as well Sindh minister Nisar Khuhro and Faryal Talpur for nominating him as Karachi president.
He also congratulated Javed Nagori and said he will do his best to serve Karachi.
The former Senator won a by-election for PS114 constituency in Sindh Assembly on July 9 after defeating Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM-Pakistan) Kamran Tessori.
Dr Asim Hussain, who was the Karachi president, was removed unceremoniously after a falling out with Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpur after he held a meeting with MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar.
