Saudi foreign minister to reach India today
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir will visit India on Monday (today).
Sources privy to the matter said that the Saudi official will call on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
The Saudi minister’s visit comes following his visit to Pakistan where he met Prime Minister Imran Khan, Army Chief General Qamar Jawed Bajwa and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
As per sources, the Saudi foreign minister had conveyed a special message of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman to PM Khan and held important discussions on the recent tensions between Pakistan and India.
Saudi State Minister for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir also assured his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi of the Kingdom’s full cooperation to settle all the outstanding issues between Pakistan and India peacefully.
“Riyadh would continue its support to Pakistan at every forum,” the Saudi official had categorically remarked during his visit to Islamabad last week.
The environment between Pakistan and India turned hostile in a tit-for-tat airstrikes following the Pulwama attack that killed over 40 Indian troops in occupied Kashmir on Feb 14.
