Saudi assistance defence minister meets COAS, discusses security cooperation

RAWALPINDI: Saudi Arabia’s Assistance Minister of Defence Muhammad Bin Abdullah Al-Ayesh called on Chief or Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters on Tuesday, said Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing said that During the meeting views were exchanged on issues of mutual interest including defence and security cooperation between both the countries.

They also discussed the overall regional security situation, read the statement.

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, on February 18, had met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and discussed the matters of mutual interest.

During the meeting, the two dignitaries had also discussed the ongoing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of defense. They had also discussed the military training collaboration in the meeting.

It is pertinent to mention here that the role of Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa in furthering ties between the two countries was an important driving force.
