Local authorities of Lahore have also devised plan to ensure security of the processions on Youm-e-Ali (R.A) in the city.
Sindh Police have prepared a plan to ensure fool-proof security on the occasion. Inspector General Sindh A.D. Khawaja has said that deployment of policemen will be completed by the eve of 18th Ramazan (today).
According to the security plan, 4244 policemen will be deployed in South Zone of the city, along with 3896 personnel in West Zone and 1519 policemen in East Zone of the metropolis to ensure no untoward incident takes place on the occasion. Women officers will also be deployed for the security duty.
The entry and exit points of Karachi will be closely monitored as well.
On the other hand, a security plan has been prepared by the authorities in Lahore as more than 5000 police and security officers will be deployed for security duty on Youm-e-Ali (R.A).
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, Ameen Vais has instructed the law enforcement agencies to carry out raids near Afghan settlements, hotels, bus stands and railway station to nab suspects ahead of the Youm-e-Ali (R.A), which observed on 21st Ramazan.
