Sehwan blast case transferred to CTD for 'investigation on merit'

KARACHI: Investigation of February 16 blast in Sehwan City’s famed Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine has been transferred to Counter Terrorism Department of Police, ARY News reported on Saturday.

“Additional IGP/CTD, Sindh, Karachi shall assign the investigation of the case to some competent Investigation Officer for impartial investigation, ensure early detection and shall furnish a report to this office, for the perusal of IGP Sindh,” reads the notification issued in this regard.

At least 80 people were killed and 210 were injured after the terror attack on Thursday at the shrine of the revered Sufi saint in Sehwan, reminiscent of the attack at shrine of Shah Noorani in Khuzdar, Balochistan in November last year.
