LONDON: PML-N president and former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday landed in London to inquire about the health of former premier Nawaz Sharif’s wife Kulsoom Nawaz.
The former first lady is stated to be in critical condition as she has been placed on life-support machines in a London hospital after she suffered a heart attack two days back.
Shehbaz touched down at Heathrow airport from where he headed for a hospital where Kulsoom is being treated.
Speaking to media at the airport, he prayed for her speedy recovery and added the reason behind his visit is to inquire about her health.
He also extended Eid greetings to the Muslims living in the United Kingdom.
On Thursday, the former premier’s daughter Maryam Nawaz requested prayers for her mother as she was put on a ventilator after her health deteriorated.
Kulsoom has been undergone a surgery for throat cancer besides multiple therapies and treatment.
Nawaz Sharif along with his daughter arrived in London on Thursday to see his ailing wife.
“Arrived in London only to hear that Ami is unwell & hospitalised again. Heading to the hospital. Prayers requested. Thank you,” Maryam said in a tweet.
