Shehbaz writes to FM Qureshi, proposes to brief NA on national action plan

ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif, has written a letter to Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in response to suggestions sought by the latter on the National Action Plan (NAP) on counter terrorism as well as on the foreign policy matters, ARY News reported Wednesday.

Sharif suggested the foreign minister to allow him brief the parliament on the NAP. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president said the counter terrorism plan came into being due to policies of the PML-N government.

The foreign minister had also thanked Bilawal and Shehbaz for demonstrating solidarity, saying, “This is the time to send the message that Pakistan is united.”

The Lahore High Court, on February 14, had approved the bail plea of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, ordering his release.

Meanwhile, the National Accountability Bureau on March 19 claimed to have received more evidences against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif in assets beyond mean case.

According to the NAB sources, Nusrat Shehbaz, first wife of Shehbaz Sharif, owned assets worth Rs225.6 million while his second wife, Tehmina Durrani owned assets worth Rs5.7 million  in Pakistan.

However, Tehmina Durrani owned eight valuable properties in Defence area, which were gifted to her by Shehbaz Sharif. Tehmina Durrani also owned a four kanal plot and one acre valuable agricultural land in Gwadar.
