LAHORE: Shehzad Saleem, Director General (DG) of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore, gave an inkling that more arrests of Shehbaz Sharif will take place in further cases against him, ARY News reported.

DG NAB Lahore, while speaking in ARY News’ program Off the Record, said that Shehbaz Sharif gave irrelevant answers to the Bureau’s questions during interrogation and he will be grilled in other cases as well.

The investigation into the Ashiana Housing Scheme scam has been completed and will be sent to the NAB Headquarter by the end of November, Mr Shehzad informed.

Furthermore, the top official of the NAB Lahore division apprised regarding the arrest of Khawaja Brothers in Paragon Housing scandal, “on 14 November, the court will be notified of the arrest warrants and Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khawaja Salman Rafique will be arrested from the court’s premises.”

He revealed that the anti-graft watchdog has collected major evidences in the case against the brothers duo.

On November 6,  an accountability court  extended the transit remand of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif until November 10.

Arrest of Shehbaz Sharif

The National Accountability Bureau on Oct 5 arrested Shehbaz Sharif inside its Lahore office where he was summoned to record his statement in connection with the Punjab Saaf Pani Company case.

A combined investigation team of the country’s top anti-graft watchdog quizzed him for an hour over his alleged role in awarding contract to his “favourite firm” in violation of laws in the Ashiana-i-Iqbal housing project.

The Bureau later issued a statement, declaring that former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif has been arrested in the scam.

Shahbaz’s blue-eyed officers, Lahore Development Authority former director general Ahad Cheema and Fawad Hasan Fawad, are already in NAB custody in the Ashiana Housing case.
