Shoaib Malik launches #PakistanZindabad movement to set Twitter record

Veteran cricketer and former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has launched #PakistanZindabad movement to set the record of the longest surviving top trend on Twitter.

The movement unfolded after the all-rounder on Friday queried from his Twitter followers about their plans for the Independence Day and asked about the longest trend on Twitter. During questions/ answers with people from around the globe he came to know that the longest trend on the micro-blogging service has survived for 39 days and some hours.

Later on Sunday, after consultation with his fans, he formally launched #PakistanZindabad movement.

What’s #PakistanZindabad movement?

So according to this movement every Twitterite will tweet with the said hashtag at least once a day along any proud achievement of Pakistan. This could be a picture, a quote, a moment, history or a fact. This could be anything we love about our country. The campaign is targeting to set Twitter alight with the #PakistanZindabad for 40 days.

“So here’s an idea; what if all of us tweet once per day on something great about Pakistan, a picture, or a quote, a moment, history, a fact, anything that we love our country for using #PakistanZindabad – for at least 40 days. Why 40? the current record for the longest trend is 39 days smth hours,” Malik wrote on his personal blogging website.

The former Karachi Kings skipper said through this trend we would portray positive image of our beloved country to the world.

Many celebrities and a huge number of fans have joined him in this initiative.
