KARACHI: Sindh Government has decided to initiate an inquiry into the matter of a recent intrusion at Karachi Press Club (KPC) by unidentified men, ARY NEWS reported on Tuesday.
This announcement was made by the provincial minister, Syed Nasir Shah while talking to the newsmen outside the banking court after appearance of Co-chairman Pakistan People’s Party, Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur, in an ongoing money laundering case.
“Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the intrusion at the KPC and an inquiry would be carried out into the matter.”, the provincial minister said.
Mr. Shah assured the journalists’ fraternity for the provision of justice and action against those involved in the incident.
On the other hand, PPP MNA, Syed Nafeesa Shah has strongly denounced the alleged attack over Karachi Press Club and vowed to raise the issue on the floor of the parliament.
Earlier in last week, dozens of plain-clothed armed men had entered the Karachi Press Club (KPC) late on Thursday night, the management said.
The unidentified persons, who were accompanied by a police mobile, entered KPC and forcibly videotaped and took photos of the offices.
The armed men couldn’t respond satisfactorily when they were asked by KPC members about their suspicious activities, and later left the scene.
Later the management of KPC immediately informed additional inspector general police, Karachi, Dr Ameer Ahmed Sheikh, who assured an investigation into the matter forthwith.
