Social media compounds miseries of Ishaq Dar, even in London

LONDON: Former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar who is blacklisted in corruption cases by the Supreme Court of Pakistan was spotted freely wandering around in London city.

A local Londoner recognizing him started recording a video, Dar acknowledging the situation addressed the man, asking “Can I help you?” and then continued walking.

What is interesting about this incident is that the Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader was blacklisted and his passport was blocked for foreign traveling.

Declared fugitive in cases pertaining to assets beyond income means a five-member Supreme Court bench had ordered NAB to file one reference against Dar.

The petitions were Filed by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s Imran Khan, Jamaat-i-Islami’s Sirajul Haq and Awami Muslim League’s Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.

Over his perpetual absence from the corruption trial proceeding, the ex-minister was declared fugitive in the case pertaining to accumulating wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. Efforts were underway to bring him back to Pakistan through Interpol.

The PML-N leader remains in London where he is reportedly undergoing a medical treatment for a heart disease.
