Swine Flu patient dies at Multan hospital

Sohail, a 20-year old resident of Qasim Bela locality of Multan, was admitted at Nishtar Hospital died on Sunday night by Swine Flu increasing the death toll by the disease in Multan to five.

Two more patients of flu were tested positive in Nishtar Hospital.

In January 51 suspected cases of Swine Flu were reported across the country and 24 of them were found positive after relevant medical tests.

In Punjab hospitals 23 patients confirmed of Swine Flu, while a solitary case confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

No cases of the H1N1 strain of flu reported in Sindh and Balochistan provinces so far.

According to attacks Swine Flu virus mostly attack weaker people with less immunity.

In 2009-10, the H1N1 swine flu pandemic spread from central Mexico to 74 other countries including India, killing an estimated 284,000 people, according to the US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.

More than 2,700 people died in India of swine flu between May 2009 and December 2010. Last year, India recorded 218 swine flu-related deaths and 937 cases, down from 2013, when 699 died.
