MUMBAI: Showbiz celebrities and their fame often bring their loved ones to the limelight, and that ‘in most cases’ it turns out to be a blessing for the unfamiliar faces. Similar is the case with the sister of Bollywood beauty Kajol.
Tanishaa Mukerji, though, is not a prominent face of the B-Town, but the prominence and eminence she enjoys has its roots to star stature of Kajol. She made her debut with the Hindi film Sssshhh…in 2003. She had her first hit with Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar, appearing alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. She also was a contestant on the reality show Bigg Boss 7 in 2013.
Recently she took to her Twitter account to share a great picture with her sister Kajol and mother Tanuja Mukerji. In the throwback picture, mother Tanuja is in a ‘hug’ sandwich and it looks adorable. Tanishaa captioned the image, “I love this squishy pic of us! #mom #family #fun #cuddles.” Tanishaa, who is active on Instagram, posts about her family often, but we must say that this picture is the best of what she has posted so far. The three of them are busy shooting, but posts like this give us family goals.
Tanishaa who is currently working on the film titled Code Name Abdul also took to her Instagram account to share a new look from her upcoming film. Directed by Esh Gunturu, it is about four Indian agents from Research and Analysis Wing who are on a mission to find an elusive criminal. This film also stars Ashok Chaudhary and Akku Kulhari in pivotal roles.
According to IMDB, the movie plot revolved around four Counter Intelligence agents from India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) who are given a mission to find an elusive Terrorist.
Reason of failure?
Kajol is not doing too many films, she is still one of the most sought after actresses in Bollwood. Tanisha, however, was seen as a disappointment with her debut in Sssshhh opposite Dino Morea. Some showbiz writers believe she lack the charm and charisma that Kajol and her mother carried.
Another reason that a handful of movies she began with were all flops at the box office and it eventually led to her dismissal from the screen.
She continued to give flops with Popcorn Khao! Mast Ho Jao, Tango Charlie and Neal N Nikki. Tanisha grabbed media attention with her loud role in Neal N Nikki and her unrestrained bold show in the movie which was made under the prestigious banner of Yash Raj Films. But even that failed to catapult her into the big league.
Incidentally, Kajol’s mother and yesteryear actress Tanuja had been overshadowed by her elder sister Nutan’s popularity and success. While Nutan, who died in 1991, won six Filmfare awards in her over four-decade-long career, Tanuja could only make it to the nominations.
