More than three million children vaccinated as part of 12-day anti-measles campaign in Punjab
LAHORE: Director General Health Services Punjab on Wednesday said that the 12-day anti-measles campaign is in full swing across Punjab, ARY News reported.
According to a statement released from his office, Dr. Munir Ahmad said that the 12-day anti-measles campaign is in full swing across the province and during the last two days, a total of 3712006 children aged between 6 months to 7 years have been injected the vaccine.
Dr. Munir further said that skilled workers are executing their duties with dedication and professional zeal.
While giving some details, the DG Health informed that the two-day target was fixed at 3341136 but the vaccination teams of the health department vaccinated 3712006 children hence they have achieved 111 percent target.
Dr. Munir Ahmad shared data of few big districts and told that during the last two days skilled workers teams inoculated 372556 children in Lahore, 161402 in Multan, 166321 in Rawalpindi, 250892 in Faisalabad, 107994 in Bahawalpur and 178316 children have been vaccinated in Gujranwala.
DG Health was of the view that the vaccine which is being used in this campaign is of International Standard and WHO certified.
He said that the same measles vaccine is not only being used in other provinces but the other countries are also using the same vaccine which is safe and of the best quality.
