Turkey extends full support to Pakistan to create more economic opportunities

ISLAMABAD: Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu in a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan, on behalf of his government, extended full support to Pakistan to create more economic opportunities.

Imran Khan said Pakistan and Turkey had the required potential to forge an even stronger partnership in future.

“Pakistan and Turkey are bonded by common faith, mutual interest and a shared future for the people of the two countries,” he said.

The prime minister said both the countries had always stood beside each other and would continue to do so.

Cavusoglu reiterated Turkey’s full support to Pakistan government’s future plans to take the country on a rapid course of economic progress, developments and creating greater opportunities for the people of Pakistan, especially its vibrant youth.

During the meeting in Islamabad, ideas covering promotion of bilateral trade and Turkish investment in various sectors including energy sector of Pakistan were also discussed.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to continue working closely in various multilateral and international forums including the United Nations and Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi along his Turkish counterpart vowed to further improve strategic, trade and cultural ties between the two countries.

Qureshi and Turkish foreign minister discussed different issues of mutual interest during delegation-level talks, including the ones related to enhancing mutual trade, his upcoming visit to Kabul, ties with Iran and the Kashmir dispute.

The FM said a conference with regard to the Kashmir issue would take place on the sidelines of the upcoming United Nation session and that he has extended invitation to Turkish minister to attend the same, which he has accepted.
