Those arrested by the law enforcers included two professors and a student.

The professors were identified as Amir Saeed and Umar Nawaz and Waqas (student).

Following the arrests, a certain faction of students raised slogans against the government and management and demanded release of the held professors and pupil.

On December 8, the CTD has also arrested a teacher for his alleged association with the banned Hizbut Tahrir (HuT) group.

A CTD team raided the house of Assistant Professor Ghalib Ata of the Institute of Administrative Sciences in Allama Iqbal Town early morning and took him away for interrogation.

Professor Ata had joined the Punjab University (PU) as a lecturer in early 1990s. He had completed PhD in management sciences in 2007.
