Uplift of tribal district top priority: PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan here on Wednesday said that development of tribal districts and provision of basic facilities to tribal people were the top priorities of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) government, ARY News reported.

Presiding over a high-level meeting to review the development of newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PM Imran said that the tribal people rendered unmatched sacrifices during the war against terrorism and directed to release the compensation money to the tribal people immediately.

He asked the elected members from newly merged districts to strengthen their bonding with the tribal people and ordered to accelerate distribution of Sehat Insaf cards to masses.

The prime minister underscored the need for people’s partnership in journey to progress and prosperity He directed to ensure provision of uninterrupted electricity in the tribal district during the holy month of Ramazan.

During the meeting, PM Imran was briefed about annual development programme for the tribal districts, funds for current fiscal year, 10-year development projects and other issues.

Finance Minister Asad Umar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Khusro Bakhtiar and others were present in the meeting.
