ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that peace was the basic prerequisite for lasting development and progress, ARY News reported.
The chief minister was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers at Punjab House in Islamabad after he attended the Pakistan Day Parade.
CM Buzdar said that the Pakistan Day ceremony was a manifestation of national passions and said that the defence of any country made it unconquerable from foreign aggression.
“If a country is safe from foreign aggression, it can dedicate more of its efforts toward internal stability and development”, he was quoted as saying.

The chief minister also welcomed Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and special guests from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Azerbaijan, China, Turkey and other friendly countries.
He said that Dr Mahathir was an iconic personality who had put his country on the road to development, progress and economic independence through his leadership qualities.
He urged the students, government officers, doctors and every citizen of the country to be honest with their studies and profession.
