Victors hog limelight in Leisure Leagues football tournament

KARACHI: Mohammad Osama fired four goals while Mohammad Uzair scored three goals to help Targaryens Football Club thrash Enfuego Football Club by 9-1 score in Leisure leagues Season III underway here at a local ground here.

In the eight-team event at Karachi United venue with matches played on Saturday, Targaryens FC dominated the match against Enfuego FC – thanks to Osama and Uzair. Ayaz and Ammar scored one goal each. Taikhum scored a consolatory goal for the losing side.

In another match of the league at Karachi United Football Stadium, Liverpool FC overcame Iqbal Memorial by 2-1 score. Mohammad Ali and Hammad Razik scored one goal each for the winning team. Mohammad Sameer scored one goal for the losing side.

At Sixteen Star Ground, another eight-team league is underway with its matches played on Sunday. RF United trounced Zaim C by 3-0 score. Farhan Khan scored two goals while Saad Afzal scored one for the winners.

In another match played at the venue, Sir Syed FC defeated North Muslim by 1-0. Bilal Shah scored one goal.

Meanwhile, Leisure Leagues Season II event concluded in Hyderabad with closing ceremony held on Saturday at Akbari Ground. Thunder Bolt emerged as champions of the eight-team league while Hyderabad Hunters finished second on the podium. Mahad Baig of Thunder Bolt was adjudged ‘Player of the League’.
