KARACHI: Police have detained a man for driving with a lion – in apparent boasting of owning a big cat – and risking lives of the citizens.
Despite his insistence that he keeps a license for the animal, Malik Saqlain was detained by the police following a complaint was lodged after video of him along with his lion in Vigo car passing through a busy city street went viral on the social media.
He was driving with the lion near Karimabad area of the city.
Gulberg SP Bashir Ahmed Brohi raided Saqlain’s house in Block 13 of FB Area, and detained him. The lioness was also taken into custody by the police.
Police have found that the license to keep the animal has been expired and hence the pet owner could face action in this regard.
