ISLAMABAD: A woman parliamentarian has reportedly been subject to domestic abuse after being allegedly assaulted by her husband, ARY News reported.

Member of National Assembly (MNA) Shahjehan Mangrio was allegedly assaulted by her husband on Thursday evening inside the Parliament Lodges.

Mangrio has confirmed the incident alleging that her husband, Dr Munir, threatened to kill her and repeatedly struck her against the wall.

She said that she has not come outside since the last three days, and is unsure about the whereabouts of her husband.

However, she said that she has not reported to the police as it is a personal matter, nor has she complained to Speaker National Assembly.

Mangrio belonged to the National People’s Party’s (NPP) and as elected on reserved seat from Sukkur before the party merged with the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N).
