World T20 2014: Two matches today
CHITTAGONG: Two matches of the Super 10 stage of the ICC World T20 2014 will be played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here in Chittagong on Monday (today), ARY News reports.
The first match of the day will be contested between New Zealand and South Africa at 02:30 P.M. Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
New Zealand has already two points to their name as they defeated England on Saturday whereas South Africa lost their match to Sri Lanka earlier. The Proteas have to win the match today for staying alive in the competition.
Out of 11 T20s contested between the two teams, the Proteas have won eight matches.
The participation of South African Captain Faf du Plessis is still doubtful in the match due to an injury.
The second match of the day will be played between the Netherlands and Sri Lanka at 06:30 P.M. PST.
Sri Lankan side has been declared favorites to win the match. They secured two points after beating the South African side by five runs in a nail biting competition whereas Netherlands made a grand entry into the Super 10 stage of the competition after beating Ireland by seven wickets as they chased down a target of 190 in just 13.5 overs.
