‘Call Sarzameen,’ ‘E-Governance’ launched to revamp Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfikar Bukhari has launched an online complaint center, “Call Sarzameen”, “E-Governance” and a new website to revamp the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis.

Speaking at the launch of “Call Sarzameen”, “E- Governance” and the new website of the ministry in Islamabad, he said impossible has been made possible by the officials of the ministry.

Appreciating the performance of his team at the ministry, he said that it took only 55 days to revamp the whole ministry, adding that it is being modernized in line with the Prime Minister’s first 100-day agenda.

After the introduction of the Immigrants Bio-metric Verification System and Naya Pakistan Calling, “Call Sarzameen”, “E- Governance” and a new Overseas Ministry website are being launched to completely change the way ministry operates, he said and explained Call Sarzameen is an online complaint center which will receive complaints regarding personal issues and the issues related to the Pakistanis living abroad.

These complaints will reach the Minister’s office on a digital screen, he said, adding that it will be easy to track the status of complaints and ask for immediate redressal of the issues. Besides, he said that “E Governance” launched by the ministry is a great step towards digitization of the organizational processes.

He said the ministry’s overall work would be done online as the paperless culture is being introduced for immediate processing of everyday tasks, he reiterated.

Furthermore, he added, the website of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistan and Human Resources Development has been revamped to facilitate stakeholders.

The people concerned can be contacted immediately through this website and this website will serve as a gateway for Pakistanis living in the country and abroad to reach officials of the ministry for redressal of their matters, he said.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Hussain Chaudhry, Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan, Minister of State for Communications Murad Saeed, Senator Faisal Javed, Parliamentary Secretary Overseas Pakistanis Javeria Zafar Aheer, Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Training and Parliamentary Secretary for Health were also present at the event.
