A picture showed a dessert item decorated with Rs. 500 notes, instead of tissues emerged on social media claiming to be from a party hosted by the Ambani family, following the grand opening of The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre.

The photo was posted on Twitter by ‘Ratnish,’ who captioned it, “Ambani ji ke party mein tissue paper ki jagah 500 ke notes hote hain” (At the Ambanis’ party, Rs. 500 notes are served instead of tissue papers).

However, as the picture went viral, foodies across social media platforms performed a fact-check and informed that it is not what it appears to be.

If you are a Delhiite or reside in Delhi-NCR, you would recognise the dish which is called “Daulat ki Chaat”.

The much-loved recipe in North India signifies richness and is power-packed with flavours. The dish is very much popular in Old Delhi and available only for a couple of months in the winter season.

CLAIM: At Ambanis’ party, Rs. 500 notes are served instead of tissue papers.

FACT: Ambanis did not serve money to their guests. The picture recognises the dish which is called “Daulat ki Chaat”.

Restaurants remodelled the dessert by adding fake notes, labelling it the “dessert of the affluents.” Netizens were quick to realize that the Twitter post was talking about the dessert, and the Ambanis didn’t serve Rs 500 notes to their guests.
