ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has urged the information officers to play an active role for highlighting the positive image of Pakistan.
He was talking to the information officers in Islamabad on Monday.
The meeting was also attended by Information Secretary Shafqat Jalil and other senior ranking officials of the Information Ministry.
The minister said in modern world there were wars of narrative. He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government thoroughly understands the power and importance of communication.
He said the communication of timely, accurate and effective information was basic responsibility of the information officers.
Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said coordination and information processing needed to be made more coordinated and vibrant.

He impressed upon the information officers to play a vibrant role in informing the public of real change.
In a message on the Defence Day, the federal minister said that September 6 was the day of renewal of the pledge that with the spirit of 1965 war, the nation would stand united, demonstrate harmony and cohesion and make Pakistan an invincible welfare state.
He said that the day was the manifestation of unity of the Armed Forces and the people of Pakistan for the sake of ideology and geography of the motherland.
The minister said that September 6 was the day to remind the enemies of the country that Armed Forces and Pakistani masses were united, are united and will remain united for defence, progress, honour and solidarity o the country.
