Fawad's effort go in vain as Federal United beat Sindh Knights

Batting first, Sindh Knights put on board 316-5 in 50 overs – thanks to captain Fawad’s quick 90 with the help of ten boundaries and a six. Asad Shafiq was also in brilliant form and scored 98 off 101 balls. Khalid Lateef scored 79 off 95 balls. Ahmed Jamal took two wickets.

In response, Federal United reached the target on the last ball of the match with only a wicket in hand. Wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal give a good start with his 78 off 69 balls after coming as opener. Skipper Fawad Alam sent Kamran back to pavilion after he bowled him. But pacer Sohail Khan struck back and took four wickets to help Sindh Knights put a fight back. However, middle-order Ali Sarfraz showed good temperament and kept calm under pressure to eventually smash a boundary on the last bowl of the inning to lead his team to victory. He scored important 33 off 32 balls.
