Five of a family die in road crash near Nawabshah

The road accident took place on National Highway at Shahpur Jahanian near Nawabshah when a Sadiqabad bound car collided with a trailer coming from the opposite direction.

The deceased have been identified as Mohammad, Sardar Ali, Liaquat Ali, Laghari and Mohammad Hashim, police officials said.

The dead bodies have been transferred to Civil Hospital Shahpur Jahanian, sources said.

The car thoroughly damaged in the accident. The trailer driver’s negligence caused the mishap, motorway police sources said.

Trailer driver fled from the scene after the incident, the police has taken the trailer in its custody and inquiring into the road crash, officials said.

In another traffic mishap, a speedy car went out of the control of the driver and fell in a canal at Kammu Shaheed in Ghotki district of Sindh.

Five members of a family drowned in the incident. The family was travelling from Rahim Yar Khan to Karachi to celeberate Eid with relatives.

Local divers and rescue workers retrieved the dead body of a girl from canal after the incident.
