LAHORE: Form submission date for low-cost housing units, under ‘Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme’ in Lodhran and Renala Khurd had been extended till April 1, said Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed.
According to a statement released from the ministry, Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed said that the provincial government decided to extend the form submission date for the convenience of general public. He said that a large number of people could not submit their forms due to heavy rush.
The minister said that families of martyred police and army officials would be provided 20 houses free-of-cost each in Renala Khurd and Lodhran.

It is pertinent to mention here that the government would launch the construction of low-cost housing units under the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme in Lahore and Faisalabad from next month.
A meeting of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) was held here on March 26, which was presided over by Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed.
Director General PHATA Liaqat Ali Chatha and other board members also attended the meeting. The minister had said that by next month, the low-cost housing scheme would also be launched in Chiniot and Sialkot districts.
