Fukrey actor Ali Fazal to direct short film on Guru Dutt

Fukrey actor Ali Fazal has done wonderful work in Hollywood drama film ‘Victoria and Abdul’ in 2017 alongside Dame Judi Dench.

He is now working on a script for a short film on Guru Dutt. This film will be an ode to the auteur.

Ali feels he would be lucky to relive even a bit of the ace filmmaker’s multitasking abilities, juggling between acting and directing. Ali is not only acting in the film but also directing it.

“It was his fervour to do more than just acting that I’m just inspired by. He was someone who achieved fame through acting, directing and producing. It takes a lot to find success of this kind. The legend he has left behind is something unmatchable and the aura is something that truly is inspirational,” he said.

The actor will feature in the role of a young but ambitious filmmaker in Milan Talkies. He is learning lifestyle of Dutt to essay the role. He wishes to highlight different aspects of the legend’s work through his acting.

Guru Dutt is regarded as one of the greatest icons of Bollywood ever.

Milan Talkies is set to hit the screens next year in January.
