General Raheel Sharif meets US Centcom Commander

Gen. Raheel Sharif discussed the military’s operation in North Waziristan tribal region against the militants.

General Austin commended the efforts made by the Pakistan Army and acknowledged the success achieved during Operation Zarb-i-Azb.

The two military leaders also discussed the situation in Afghanistan and the need to bring peace and stability in the country.

General Raheel Sharif also expected to meet Chairman Joint Chiefs Staff General Martin Dempsey during his US visit.

Officials say Gen Raheel’s meetings with US counterparts will provide an opportunity to enhance bilateral military-to-military cooperation.
