Governor Sindh feels remorse over using hard-hitting words

KARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad said on Friday that the operation in the city would continue, saying the provincial government would not spare any criminal and terror element in Karachi.
Talking to media representatives, he said that during the last few days he used harsh and hard-hitting language which left him to feel bad. However, the provincial governor, at the same time, maintained that few old friends unduly criticised him.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari wants to see Karachi progress and develop, Ibad said adding that several businesses and professionals were interested in investing in various projects of Sindh, particularly Karachi.

A rift between Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chief Mustafa Kamal and Dr Ishratul Ibad intensified on Thursday after Kamal challenged the Sindh Governor to prove all the allegations he levelled against him.
He also demanded that Dr Ibad’s name must be placed on the Exit Control List (ECL), made to resign, arrested and his British nationality should be exposed.
Ibad had said on Wednesday that a huge cache of arms and ammunition hidden in a water tank of a house in Azizabad neighbourhood of Karachi earlier this month was bought to fight the Pakistan army. He also hinted that the PSP Chief was allegedly involved in historical terror incidents that unfolded in Karachi.
In reply to governor’s allegations, Kamal asked to reopen Baldia Factory fire and May 12 mayhem cases, stressing that Dr Ibad must create a joint investigation team (JIT) to investigate both the incidents.
