Govt wants to formulate free, balanced foreign policy: Asad Qaiser

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar on Sunday said that government wanted to formulate a foreign policy that would fulfill the objective to develop relations with comity of nations on the basis of equality.

Asad Qaisar was addressing annual ceremony of Mishaal Institute of Special Education Shobra City Colony, Tarbaila Dam.

The speaker said the country was confronted with challenges both monetary and external, however, no compromise would be made on the sovereignty and autonomy of the motherland.

He said the country would be out of crises soon and people would enjoy fruits of the policies adopted by the government.

On February 3, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said Kashmir was the key pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy.

Qureshi had said Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue was well-explained and clear. “We will continue raising our voice against Indian oppression on innocent and unarmed Kashmiris in the India-occupied valley.”

He had said Pakistan would continue political and diplomatic support to the people of held Kashmir.

On January 24, Shah Mahmood Qureshi had stressed the need for a better foreign policy to cope with the challenges confronting the country.
