Govt hikes petrol, HSD prices by Rs. 2.25 per litre

ISLAMABAD: The government has announced to hike prices of petroleum products by Rs. 2.25 per litre, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

The government has enhanced petroleum prices by Rs 2.25, which will now be Rs 70.29 per litre and the new price of high speed diesel (HSD) has been fixed at Rs79.48 per litre after a hike of Rs 2.25.

However, the government has decided to maintain the prices of light diesel and kerosene oil, which are currently Rs 43.34 and Rs 43.25 per litre, respectively.

The government had enhanced petrol and diesel cost upto Rs. 4 per litre in the past 15 days.

Moreover, the CNG station owners in Sindh have hiked per kilogram price of the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by Rs. 5.50 since the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources has deregulated the gas prices in the province.

According to reports the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had forwarded a summary of hike in petroleum prices to the Ministry of Petroleum. The prices recommended in the summary were; petrol Rs 4.15, high speed diesel Rs 4.30, kerosene oil Rs 16.70, light speed diesel Rs 12.15 and HOBC Rs 12.50.
