Gwadar to be economic, business center in future: chairman senate

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani on Sunday said Gwadar will be economic and business center in future.

“This port will put positive impact on the development and prosperity of Pakistan and the region as well,” he said while talking to Minister for International Development of China Song Tao in Islamabad.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chinese minister said that Beijing gave much importance to its relations with Islamabad.

Earlier this month, the Senate Standing Committee on Defence Production has asked the ministry to expedite the completion of Gwadar Shipyard, aimed at facilitating the cargo ships likely to dock at Gwadar port in connection with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Terming Balochistan a future economic zone for economically sound nations, the committee said that the development work in future would herald bulge of employment opportunities for dwellers of the province.
