ISLAMABAD: Another case of hacking of bank account has surfaced on Monday and this time a hacker has withdrawn three million rupees from bank account of a retired scientist, ARY News reported.

According to details, retired chief scientist of Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) Yousuf Khilji has approached the Supreme Court seeking the chief justice to take notice of this “bank fraud”.

“I have been robbed of my entire life’s hard work,” he said demanding from CJP Saqib Nisar to bring the culprits to book.

Earlier, in a cyber attack millions of rupees were stolen from a local bank’s credit cards and ATMs. Following this incident, the State Bank of Pakistan had put temporary restrictions on overseas transactions.

The central bank directed all the banks to take necessary and comprehensive steps to ensure security of payment cards in the country. It said overseas transaction should be surveilled in real time.

In a statement last month, while hearing a case with regard to fake bank accounts, Saqib Nisar said he was waiting for the report of Joint Investigation Team probing fake bank accounts.
