The Highlander remake has been forced to pause production after the Man of Steel Henry Cavill suffered an injury during pre-production training.
The setback means filming, which was originally planned for this autumn, will now begin early next year.
Henry Cavill, who is set to play Connor MacLeod in the Highlander remake, was injured while preparing for the demanding role.
Although the exact nature of the injury has not been disclosed, the delay has raised questions about whether the film’s eventual release could be pushed back.
Directed by Chad Stahelski, the Highlander remake is expected to arrive in either 2027 or 2028, though no firm date has been confirmed.
Alongside Henry Cavill, the film will feature Dave Bautista, Russell Crowe, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, and Max Zhang.
This new adaptation will reimagine the classic 1986 Highlander story of immortals locked in centuries-long battles.
While plot specifics remain under wraps, fans are eagerly anticipating the fresh take, especially with Henry Cavill leading the cast.
With Henry Cavill’s injury forcing production to shift, the Highlander remake now faces a longer road to completion, but expectations remain high for the return of the legendary saga.
