Medical facilities run by proscribed organisations sealed in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Amid crackdown against the banned organizations, law enforcement agencies on Wednesday sealed a hospital and  three dispensaries run by the proscribed organizations in Rawalpindi, ARY News reported.

Rawalpindi district administration told the journalists that the law enforcement agencies, in compliance with the National Action Plan (NAP), had sealed the establishments run by the banned organisations.

The officials said that the hospital and the three dispensaries had been sealed while the administrative control of a seminary had been handed over to the Punjab government.

The security agencies also sealed seven shops and seized an ambulance during the crackdown in Rawalpindi. No activist of the banned outfits have been apprehended so far.

Earlier in the day, Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi said that a crackdown against proscribed organisations will continue until the intended objectives are not achieved.

“Operation against proscribed organisations as per National Action Plan 2014 (NAP) shall continue till achievement of objectives,” he tweeted. He said that the PTI government was pursuing efforts to accelerate progress on the NAP.

Yesterday, the minister had said 44 persons belonging to banned organisations had been taken into custody as per the directives of National Security Committee (NSC).
